Hi all and welcome to my student information site. I am an Independent Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFI, CFII, MEI) and I have been teaching and instructing since 2003. My goal is to provide quality flight instruction in the safest environment. I provide training in San Diego, CA. I enjoy teaching the Greatest Hobby in the world. I started to flying as a hobby and today it is still a hobby.
I was born and raised in New York City. I was first introduced to the Aviation field while attending and graduating Aviation High School in the late 1980's. Upon graduation, I earned my Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanics license along with my high school diploma.
Today, I am currently Active Duty in the United States Navy as an Avionics Technician. I was able to earn my Single / Multi Engine Commercial License with my instrument rating along with my flight instruction ratings. I am also in the process of finishing my Master's Degree in Aerospace Safety Systems at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Teaching and learning are two of my most favorite things. I am also an Adjunct Instructor at San Diego Miramar College. I teach the Private Pilot Ground School and several other aviation related classes. I enjoy meeting new people who are interested in learning how to fly.
Learning to fly has not only been one of the best adventures of my life, but it has also given me a huge sense of achievement and pride in myself. Flying is a dream comes true. The freedom of being a pilot is truly amazing.
My other interests include, but are not limited to, riding my bike, hiking, Hockey (Go Habs), movies, music, skydiving, and sports.
If you already have a few lessons in hand but didn't finish, I can help get you over the hurdle and polish what you have learned. Please note; I am an independent CFI. I am not associated with any Flight School / Universities. If you're interested or just have a few questions, you can contact me at (619) 248-0673 or robm55@yahoo.com.
